“In viewing these art works, you’re also gaining an insight into my own story, as a young boy with a love for art to finding a fully fledged career as an international creative director for Makeup Artistry. Makeup has been a unique outlet for dealing with my own, circumstances: through escapism, through healing, through creativity. The exhibition as a whole pays homage to my family, to my extended queer family, the LGBTQIA+ community and close friends whose belief and support have been my pillars; a foundation on which I continue to build.”

This summer, as part of our 25th anniversary celebrations throughout 2024, we are so proud and excited to present this photography exhibition of the stunningly striking work by Laois born makeup artist, James Mac Inerney. We have been following his impressive international portfolio and busy career in recent years and are thrilled that he took up our invitation to host the first Irish exhibition of his work here, following his great success at Morley Gallery, London. It is fitting that Dunamaise present this acclaimed artwork in James’ home county. We look forward to welcoming audiences and gallery visitors to admire the skill, artistry and beauty on display. We’re also excited to host an exclusive Masterclass with James later in the season – keep in touch through our socials and newsletter for ticket sales details!
