Christmas Market

We are delighted to announce our first Christmas Market, bringing together a small, curated selection of artists, makers, and more to celebrate the holiday season. This cosy, festive market will feature handcrafted goods, locally produced foods, and holiday décor that captures the spirit of Portlaoise at Christmas.

Each night as the market ends, as the theatre doors fling open and the fantastic 65 Kitchen Choir take to the stage for an annual highlight – their festive concert of classic hits and favourites! Limited tickets are available so people are encouraged to book theirs early!

Visitors will also enjoy festive food and beverages, including mulled wine, teas, coffees, and seasonal treats, provided by Laois Taste and the Dunamaise Bar.

Creative Workshops:
Thursday – Adult Christmas Ornament/Jewellery Workshop (Free Book Here)
Saturday – Family arts and crafts table throughout the day & Cookie Decoration with Brie's Bakes

Christmas Lights & Santa’s Arrival:
Friday, November 29th, 6:30 PM – Join the festive cheer at the Portlaoise Town Christmas Lights Ceremony on Main Street! Shoppers are invited back to the market afterward for seasonal treats, and Dunamaise festive elves will guide guests back to Dunamaise Arts Centre.

Saturday, November 30th – A memorable meet-and-greet with Santa himself! Families can capture a holiday keepsake with Santa in a cosy photo area with local photographer Terry Conroy, enjoy holiday crafts, and create special treats with Brie’s Bakes (subject to availability over the day). The Start of Our Festive Season
The Christmas Market marks the beginning of Dunamaise Arts Centre’s festive season of concerts, performances, and special events, making it the ideal spot for early holiday shopping.
