Documentary of the life and career of Mary Robinson, a pioneering constitutional lawyer, first female President of Ireland, UN High commissioner for Human Rights and Chair if the Elders.

This screening of Mrs. Robinson is the final event in the Laois Climate Action Festival, running since the 6th of October.
It also marks the launch of the Our World Cinema Club in association with Climate Action, Laois County Council.

Our World Cinema Club will show true stories to inspire and inform on environmental topics, empowering us to make positive changes.

After the film a short panel discussion, “Climate Inspirations” features Laois people sharing what inspires them to take climate action.

Tom Popple will lead the discussion. Tom, CEO of BE IMPACTFUL and founder of Climate Cocktail Club, lives in Ballyadams, Co Laois and has 15 years experience in the design, development and delivery of impact programmes. He is a fiercely independent strategic advisor, supercharging the ambitions of brands, social entrepreneurs and changemakers. Tom will lead the discussion after the film.

Stephen McEvoy is a keen outdoors enthusiast and whether it's mountain biking, hiking or just going for walk in his local area outside Portlaoise, he enjoys being outside. He believes everyone can do something, even if it is small, that can make a difference and benefit our environment

Sarah Bennett is a passionate Climate Ambassador with An Taisce and hails from Co Laois. Currently completing examinations with the Law Society of Ireland, she has a Master of European Law from Utrecht University, and a Bachelor of Civil Law with Business from NUI Galway. Sarah hopes to put her studies to work for environmental justice.

Laura Kirwan from Laois is the Sustainability Lead at Nutritics. She is a registered nutritionist with a PhD in Sustainable Diets. Passionate about the role of technology in the transition to sustainable business, Laura has consulted on international projects including EU Climate Smart Chef, GoGreenRoutes and the United Nations COP28 conference.
